ThePontine Islandsthey are a pretty archipelago off the coast of Italy south ofRome. With a long history, attested by Roman ruins and rock tombs.
There are only two islands large enough to offer accommodation options and regular ferry connections:PonzaAndCome on. The other islands of the Pontine Archipelago, including the nature reserve ofZannone,they can be visited on boat trips from the two larger islands.Palmarolaa small island in frontPonzaand almost uninhabited. There is a small mooring place for boats and a restaurant (only in summer). The green island ofZannoneIt is a nature reserve, and also the site of a ruined monastery, built in 1213.
